The Best Relationship Advice (for a life you love and the love of your life)

Is it time for you to transform your relationships?

To move beyond limitations and grow into a new experience of love and romance?

It’s a time of emergence and new growth. A time of transcendence.

Here’s what I recommend for success in relationships — and life, in general:

Go for gold!

Aim for the heavens, reach for the stars.

Go for the love and intimacy you know you deserve.

Step away from the habits, past experiences, fears and disempowering notions that are keeping you stuck in the how-it’s-always-been into a new, more fulfilling experience of intimacy and relationship.

If you’d like a different experience of love and relationship, now’s the time to make it happen.

How?

Here are my three steps to making it happen:

1. Take stock
Make an appraisal of your resources and potentialities. What are your strengths in relationship? What qualities would you like to share with your beloved? What resources can you draw from? What are the growth areas and what other resources do you need to enhance the quality of intimacy in your life?

2. Orient yourself
Whilst it’s important to be clear and honest about how things are and where you’re at, it’s just as crucial to know where you’re heading. What are your core values? How do you position yourself on everything that matters in love and relationship? What’s your vision and intention for the future? How would you like to love and be loved?

3. Commit and make a move
Even if you don’t have all the answers, even if you don’t feel you’re ready, commit to moving in this new direction and take the first step. And another. And one more after that. Develop yourself, raise your awareness and keep moving forward by repeating the same three-part process.

You’ll learn, gather more resources and grow every step of the way.

Let yourself be motivated by curiosity, desire and imagination.

Even if you don’t think you can do it, or don’t know how.

Pablo Picasso famously said:

“I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it.”

As long as you’re willing to explore and learn, you’ll find the way to more love, deeper intimacy and greater fulfillment in relationship.

Positive future orientation plus committing to the process and taking action will make it happen.

Discover the joy in learning.

Build your knowledge, develop your awareness and gather more resources through experimentation and actively seeking learning opportunities.

Learn from experts, read, go on courses, make a point of engaging in activities and spending time in places and with people who can support you to develop yourself and the way you relate.

Let’s look at you, then:

  • What is one great strength that you can draw from in relationship and how can you make the most of it?
  • What is one important quality or value that you want to orient yourself towards in relationship?
  • What one action will you take in this direction?

Might you show your caring / fun-loving / adventurous side more?
Might you orient yourself towards more playfulness / sensitivity / honesty in the way you relate?
Might you now say or do something different / extend an unusual invitation / dare to share something you haven’t shared before?

When you ask yourself these questions, don’t hesitate to go for gold!

Start with your greatest strengths and most profound values, imagine the best outcome and build up desire, as you orient yourself in that direction — and off you go!
